Princeton HUP!

Mór-fháilte roimh chách go dtí ár seisiún ceoil! Is iontach linn bhúr gcomhluadar agus bhúr n-inchur. Níl i gceist ach bheith i dteannta a chéile i mbun ceoil.Pé-cu bodhrán, fliúit, bosca, fidil nó fiú amhrán- Tá fial fáilte flaithiúil agus fonnmhar roimh chách.

A rough translation of my friend Iarla Ó Lionáird's Irish welcome above:

"A hearty welcome to all at our music session! Your company and your spirit mean the world to us. All that matters is being together, sharing the music.
Be it bodhrán, flute, box, fiddle, or even a song— There’s an open, generous, and joyful welcome for everyone."

Princeton HUP! has been a regular session since 2024 and we recently moved from our homes to the Yankee Doodle Tap Room for a monthly music happening. My goal is to bring the traditional Irish session to Princeton as an authentic Irish-American musical experience.

"HUP!" is an expression that a lead session player will yell out to the other musicians to signal it's time to change the tune and move on.
